‘The Scorpion & The Frog’

A scorpion & a frog meet on the bank of a stream & the scorpion asks the frog to carry him across on its back.

The frog asks, “How do I know you won’t sting me?”

The scorpion says, “Because if I do, I will die too.”

The frog is satisfied & they set out, but in midstream the scorpion STINGS the frog.

The frog feels the onset of paralysis & starts to sink, knowing they both will drown, but has just enough time to gasp, “WHY?”

The scorpion replies, “It’s MY NATURE…”

WINTER barely left its mark & SPRING has nearly SPRUNG [dreading the closet SWAP & clean-up] which is clearly too soon but the people living in my area have already started PLANTING new saplings, there are flower buds emerging, so excuse my WILD assumptions in case a COLD FRONT heads in our direction! I felt like I should use this as an OPPORTUNITY to fill everyone in on my plans for the blog & my life for the rest of this year ahead as the first half of 2015 is officially over [how CRAZY or dare I say ‘CRAY’, is it that we are already in JULY?]. Faux It !

Anyone close to me knows that my LUNGS give up on me around this time of year & renders me helpless but thanks to my incredible SUPPORT system that we have going on at home, I shall be in full health & ready to get back to being my busy body self [looking after my mother who is now SICK because of me :/]. I am currently residing in MY BED [looking like Chuckie’s Bride…I’m not even over exaggerating here guys], I’m not being productive & it’s killing me [Doctors orders…because Bronchitis] so I decided to go full steam ahead & do a fashion blog post whilst being HEAVILY medicated. Everything was BLUE up until the moment I was born, my parents were 100% certain [with the reassurance of a DOCTOR] that I was going to be a BOY & out I came PRETTY in PINK. However I still managed to be the SON my dad never had, a complete TOMBOY. I literally used to wear anything baggy including my dad’s T-shirts tucked into my BOOTLEG jeans of every shade, paired with any sneaker [YUCK, I know right!] whether it matched or NOT. I owned little to no DRESSES or SKIRTS right up until my Matric Year. It has been the longest journey personally trying to grow from that AWKWARD PHASE to finding a space where I felt COMFORTABLE with myself [which only happened at the end of my TEENS].

Sitting here writing this today I would have never thought of myself as someone who had an ounce of STYLE [or any colour co-ordination skills what so ever] but I have somehow managed to find my NICHE when it comes to FASHION & my SIGNATURE style. I may have been a little late BUT I have embraced becoming a LADY, however by no means have I STOPPED being ME, whether it is picking up a TOOL [for an occasional DIY fixer upper around the house], playing NEED for SPEED/ COPS & ROBBERS [while I drive] or the never ‘HAPPY ending’ wrestling matches with my sister [our addition -> ‘MAYFEATHER vs. PIKACHU’].
